Haulfryn family has a fantastic opportunity for a full time Urban Designer/Architect to join our Property Team.

As an Urban Designer/Architect, you will design new development layout plans, accommodation and facilities for Haulfryn’s sites as well as project manage planning and architectural consultants through development projects.

What Will You Do

  • To design concept and development stage masterplans for future development sites including street layouts, unit locations and facility buildings to then be passed to Haulfryn’s architectural consultants who will produce the detailed packages.
  • Detailed design of smaller developments. All service and engineering drawings to be produced by consultants.
  • Research and development of the design and sustainability functions of new pre fab unit types to then use to guide our manufacturers in partnership with our internal commercial team and their research.
  • Production of Design Guidelines & Development Standards as well as branding on future Haulfryn development sites
  • Work with the internal IT team on the development of a property management system for the companies land and real estate portfolio
  • Throughout projects, manage a team of consultants from planning to architects to engineers and brief onsite contractors in the design development, planning permission and creation of drawing packages. Project manage smaller developments on site (the architectural consultant will be the AP) to ensure all parties are aligned, processes are followed and managing. Larger projects will have an onsite PM and this role will communicate the project program and planning as well as architectural details to the PM. The role is to ensure that all projects are managed, there is full communication throughout the project team and that projects are delivered according to a company process and schedule.
  • To work with a small internal design and planning team as well as with marketing, operations and finance teams. Working on development feasibility studies with internal teams.

What Will You Bring

  • Qualified RIBA architect part 2-3 OR equivalent engineering/ urban design/ Estate management/ Town Planning MSc or degree background
  • Knowledge of UK building standards and town planning process
  • Knowledge of the UK tourism market a bonus
  • Knowledge of the caravan/ lodge industry and build standards a bonus
  • Excellent 2D AUTO CAD & 3D in AUTO CAD or Sketchup. Proficient in Adobe suite & Microsoft packages including excellent skills in excel so as to work on development feasibility studies.
  • Ability to make concept and development 2D & 3D drawing packages self lead
  • Ability to create 3D visualizations of projects
  • Ability to engage with finance team on project feasibility studies (finance/ planning permission/ product and build lead times)
  • Minimum 6 years experience of urban design projects
  • Experience designing urban environments, resort or leisure design is a bonus
  • Experience and ability to create high quality holiday and residential urban environments supported by research, concept creation and drawing package development.
  • Experience developing a development program from concept to delivery as well as timeframe
  • Experience managing a real estate portfolio a bonus (land and building management)
  • Full clean driver's license and has own transportation
