What will I be doing?

The Director of Groups Conference and Events role is mainly Monday-Friday, with some evenings and weekends.

As the Director of Groups Conference and Events in our hotel, you will be responsible for leading a high-performing GCE sales and Reservations team, as well as Executing the planning of Large programmes, ensuring exceptional customer service to all guests.

Essential functions:

    Manage and develop the Conference, and Events Sales Team to ensure career progression and effective succession planning within the hotel and company Maximise all Group, Conference, and Event revenue opportunities Review business plans, identify gaps and ensure proactive efforts Exceed set targets Contribute to the selling strategy of the hotel, and manage the departments' adherence to achieving that strategy Understand the competitive market and implement approaches to ensure the hotel stays ahead Ensure the Team is developed effectively and generate a culture of high-quality standards for relationship building, customer service, and selling techniques. Build a professional and engaged team to propose for an Event, Negotiate and Contract before Planning an event from after the contract stage until the pre-conference meeting. Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high levels of performance and exceed targets Excellent selling capability and an ability and desire to coach selling techniques to their team Strong analytical skills to understand key business indicators and competitive trends and develop approaches to these challenges Versatile and positive in developing and managing customer relationships with a high standard of communication To fully understand the needs of the customer and strive to exceed those expectations at all times
 

Specific job knowledge, skill and ability

    In-depth Knowledge of GCE for a number of years Strong Leadership Skills Strong Commercial and Sales background Positive attitude and excellent communication skills Commitment to delivering a high level of customer service Confident telephone manner Excellent grooming standards and strong skills in time management, organisation and coordination Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and work effectively under time and resource constraints Have fantastic attention to detail, accountable and resilient Ability to work under pressure
      Flexibility to respond to a range of different work situations
It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

    Knowledge of Delphi, ONQPM Demonstrated previous experience working in a large events hotel or a similar sized property
