Store Manager - Cheltenham

Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be responsible for the management of your store and team within The Frasers Group and be accountable for any outcomes. You will achieve this by having a strong commercial awareness to train, coach and progress team engagement, providing inspirational leadership on how to surpass the company objectives. You will operate as a business manager for your store, ensuring that business initiatives are met with positivity and pace, whilst controlling and delivering across the board for store operations, customer service, budget control, people and product.

Operations:

  • Manage store operations and ensure delivery to expectation on all KPI’s
  • Plan and prioritise workload to ensure a productive and efficient team
  • Make confident decisions, and delegate to your team effectively
  • Be accountable for all store compliance of process and procedures whilst maintaining a safe environment for both your team and customers
  • Train and coach the team to best practice and provide evidence of best practice through area/regional visits
  • Use business communication tools to oversee completion of tasks and meet deadlines

Controls:

  • Use reports to ensure wage controls are met on a weekly basis, resolving any issues quickly and effectively
  • Plan store schedules in line with store trading patterns and business expectation
  • Manage compliance with processing of payroll issues and problem-solve effectively
  • Drive excellent performance on wage controls through floor-based observations and efficient practices
  • Be organised and consistent with daily structure to ensure store meets compliance, customer service and security standards
  • Guide the team to work within timeframes set by the business and set realistic expectations daily

Sales

  • Understand business and customer expectation and motivate the team to deliver an excellent customer experience
  • Understand product features and benefits and train your team to maximise sales opportunity
  • Understand assigned KPI targets and communicate these clearly to team. Execute and actively track against these targets and motivate your team to deliver these results
  • Understand the retail industry, business challenges, competitors and customers, with a strong commercial awareness
  • Use reports to analyse and manage commerciality of key products to impact sales and profitability
  • Interpret merchandising guidelines to the sales floor with strong commerciality and efficiency

Development

Identify internal talent, use development opportunities and performance management processes to drive and reward exceptional performance

Be self-driven in own personal development and take on developmental feedback constructively

Plan for development and create a clear team succession plan to encourage next generation and support business growth

Create an environment that encourages and rewards performance fairly and equitably

Understand and promote the Frasers Group core values and coach the team to engage with these values

Engage with your team to feedback new ideas and contribute to the wider business

Leadership and Management

  • Inspire your team and act as a role model
  • Develop, coach and motive your team to achieve success, holding them accountable where appropriate
  • Take responsibility of your store and be accountable for any outcomes
  • Develop relationships with store team and ensure everyone is working to the same goals
  • Work closely with Area Manager and contribute to the success of your area as a whole

Technical Skills

  • Cytech Level 2 qualification (or equivalent) or completion of the Evans Cycles qualification
  • Understand and comply with all health and safety procedures
  • Understand how to check, assemble and correctly build bikes, undertake repairs and all levels of service
  • Manage the booking process for services and repairs
  • Consistently meet agreed build and servicing targets
  • Complete safety checks and fit accessories
  • Use tools and machinery safely and keep work areas safe and organised
  • Advise and recommend products and services to suit customer need and budget
  • Use skills and knowledge to drive workshop KPI’s

The Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years retail management experience
  • Ability to positively impact results in sales, payroll and stock loss
  • Proven record of developing a Management team and talented individuals
  • Must be able to work well under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Committed to achieving the highest store standards and customer service experiences
  • Strong commercial awareness and able to analyse company and store reports
